‘If the theater has such a smart toilet, then I can go there again’.  That is why we are working on with the Toilet For Me project! Belgian, Dutch and Polish teams tested the first prototype of a toilet system.

Our findings relate primarily to safety and comfort of users as well as ergonomics, usability and legibility of the functions. Possibility to quickly stop a given feature is important for people using the toilet to feel safe on it. And freedom of movement for people with different body shapes and needs is a matter of their comfort.

Collecting measurements was also an important part of testing. Users set their preferred toilet heights and angles. Many people (especially wheelchair users) lower the position of the toilet when they are using it, which provides them with stability and comfort of use (leg placement that is better for intestine functioning).

The report is an input for the technical partners to develop the prototype number two. Coming soon!
